Located between the lot divisions Jardim Bela Vista and Mar y Lago, in the Costazul quarter, the Iriry Lagoon is also known as Coca-Cola, Iodized or Sweet Lagoon. It’s a lagoon formed by the barrage of a stream by the sandbank. The main draining system is on the underground. The waters infiltrate faster in the land when the lagoon is very full. In the past it usually opened its communication bar with the sea, fact that today does not happen anymore.
How to Get There
Leaving from the Matriz Church, in the Center, proceed by Amaral Peixoto Highway (RJ-106), in the direction of Macaé. Around km 150, turn right, at the entrance of Costazul quarter, traveling 1 km approximately on the Governador Roberto da Silveira Avenue.
When arriving in the Costazul Avenue turns left and always go straight ahead until the Lagoon, situated between the lot divisions Jardim Bela Vista and Mar y Lago, at the Costazul neighborhood.

Located in a small bay, between the Abricó and Bosque beaches, it has calm waters, warm and greenish with bigger transparency indexes in the summer months. It has ideal depth of bath for adult and for child. Sand of typical yellowish tonality of the region (monazitic sand). It is surrounded by residences, with kiosks in the sidewalk.
How to Get There
Leaving from the Matriz Church, in the Center, proceed by Amaral Peixoto Highway (RJ-106), in the direction of Barra de São João until before the exit of the city. It is the first beach that appears.

This long beach extension comes with several names, usually similar to the lot divisions at the coast, such as: Caledônia Beach, Figueira, Jardim Bela Vista and others. Made of green, transparent and warm waters, some passages are favorable to the surf practice and dive. With monazitic sands, it impresses the visitors because its spectacular landscape of extreme beauty.
