The Rio das Ostras Jazz & Blues Festival is an annual festival that has been held for over 20 years in the city of Rio das Ostras/RJ, attracting an audience of 100,000 to 130,000 people per edition, during its four days, including tourists from all over the country and abroad.
Following the great success of the 21st edition of the Rio das Ostras Jazz & Blues Festival, we will maintain all the pillars that have built its success over the years, and in 2026 the festival aims to exceed expectations, reaffirming our position as the festival in the segment with the highest number of editions ever held. Another milestone for the largest Jazz & Blues festival in Latin America and one of the 10 largest in the world. The line-up features more than 30 national and international acts performing on 5 stages spread throughout the city, bringing the best of Jazz, Blues and Instrumental Music to the public.
The 22nd edition of the Rio das Ostras Jazz & Blues Festival will undoubtedly maintain the tradition of increasing the festival's prestige each year, both nationally and internationally.
NEWS FOR 2026
The Rio das Ostras Jazz & Blues Festival has been expanding its activities and reach since its creation in 2003, with initiatives to promote Brazilian culture and music. In 2026, we will take another big step in this direction with the creation of Palco Brasil – a strategically located space – with the aim of disseminating Brazilian instrumental music production.
Furthermore, we will expand our partnership with the governments of CANADA, FRANCE, and SPAIN through coordinated actions of cultural exchange and experience sharing.
We will also expand our partnership with UFRJ to deliver a smart event in waste management by carrying out actions such as: selective collection, post-event beach clean-up campaigns, planting of native seedlings, proper collection and disposal of waste, among other actions.
Since its creation in 2003, the Rio das Ostras Jazz & Blues Festival has held over 600 concerts, 100 lectures and workshops for more than 1 million spectators, stimulating interest in high-quality music and creating opportunities for the public to see some of the biggest names in national and international music up close.
Throughout this period, the Festival has remained true to its initial mission, focused on building an audience, boosting tourism, generating income, attracting business, offering culture, democratizing access to cultural assets through its complete FREE admission, and stimulating the economy through its continuity. This last point is proven by studies conducted by FGV-RJ, SEBRAE, and the Rio das Ostras Tourism Secretariat, which attest to an average injection of 9 million reais during the four days of each edition.
Driven by a dream, the Rio das Ostras Jazz & Blues Festival is today the most democratic musical space in the country. The festival has been part of the official events calendar of the State of Rio de Janeiro since September 2011, given its cultural, touristic, social and economic importance to the city of Rio das Ostras and the entire Costa do Sol region. Supported by its continuity, the city of Rio das Ostras received the title of "State Capital of Jazz & Blues" through a bill sanctioned by the government of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
The Festival's defining characteristic is its blend of musical styles and trends, creating a panorama of the most important aspects of blues, jazz, and instrumental music in Brazil and abroad.
The Festival, organized by the Rio das Ostras City Hall, through the Department of Tourism and the Rio das Ostras Cultural Foundation, with production by Azul Produções and support from Like Produtora and sponsorships from Oceânica and Seagems.
SusTAINABILITY IN AcTION AT ROJB 2026
The festival reinforces its commitment to sustainability through a robust project, executed by the socio-environmental organization Sirí and the CRIOS laboratory of UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro).
Sponsored by Seagems, the initiative aims to promote the collection and sorting of more than 5.5 tons of waste, with an expected reuse rate of over 78%, in addition to neutralizing approximately 10.5 kg of CO₂ equivalent.
Sirí operates on the coast of Rio de Janeiro state, focusing on circular economy, productive inclusion, and environmental education. CRIOS, on the other hand, is a teaching, research, and outreach laboratory linked to the Engineering courses at UFRJ in Macaé, which transforms academic knowledge into applied technological solutions.
The project includes three main areas: the Sustainability Space, the selective waste collection operation, and the cleanup effort at Iriry Lagoon.
All actions are part of the Seagems do Bem program, a permanent committee of the company dedicated to promoting initiatives with social and environmental impact inside and outside the company.
